Obituary for Pam Ganotis

April 19, 1940 - April 8, 2017
Jamesville, New York | Age 76

Pandoula "Pam" Ganotis, of Jamesville, NY departed us on April 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Pam was born on April 19, 1940 and lived in Jamesville her entire life. She was the beloved daughter and first child of the late Afendra and George Ganotis.
Pam graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 1957 and thereafter from Central City Business Institute. Throughout her career she worked as a legal secretary and as a para-legal for several law firms in Syracuse. She most recently worked for the law firm of Baldwin and Sutphen.
A devout Christian, Pam was a life-long faithful member of St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church. She was formerly a Sunday school teacher and often she volunteered her talents working as a substitute church secretary. She was active in the annual Greek Festival, working tirelessly since the festival's inception. She baked for the numerous church bake sales, specializing in Greek pastries and desserts. She was also a member of the Philoptochos.
Pam is survived by her devoted sister Helen Ganotis of Rochester, NY who provided loving care to Pam during her recent illness. Pam's surviving five brothers include John (Carol) Ganotis of Fayetteville, NY, Gus (Bonnie) Ganotis of Newport Beach, CA, Chris (Joan) Ganotis of N. Hampton, NH, Peter Ganotis of Romona, CA and Jim (Amy Herendeen) Ganotis of Manlius, NY. She treated her ten nieces and nephews as her own and they all loved her dearly. Other survivors include several grand nieces and grand nephews and numerous cousins in the United States, Greece and Australia.
The family members would like to thank the physicians and nurses from Hematology Oncology Associates, Crouse Hospital, Wilmot Cancer Center and Strong Memorial Hospital for the care they provided to Pam during her acute illness. They also want to extend a special thank you to Dr. Peter Becker for his compassionate professional care in Pam's last weeks at home.
